AATF

The African American TV & Filmmakers (AATF) is a not-for-profit,tax exempt, organization that was incorporated in February of1997, in Chicago, Illinois to bridge a gap in media representation for diversity of African Americans in the television and film industries. AATF provides a building block of cultural diversity in education and support performances in these industries as well as the preservation and cultural awareness.

Artistic Statement:

AATF’s mission is to become a cultural resource organization established to educate, train, and mentor emerging African Americans through television and film. The organization’s direction is to focus awareness and institute a cycle of technical and artistical services while mentoring youths to adults. Our belief is to contribute to the population of independent filmmakers while showcasing relationships between talent and audience with AATF’s guidance.
