Television

You shot your project and its better then you ever anticipated. The only problem is that N.B.C. is not returning your calls. C.B.S. has had security remove you a dozen times from their premises and you're beginning to assume that no one is interested in broadcasting your video.
There is always that other unpopular alternative known as public access, or more officially, depending on were you live, Chicago Access Network. Now we know that Public Access does not have the strongest reputation for quality television. But you have the ability to change that.
If you have already shot a video of any type and live in the city of Chicago limits you can have your tape broadcast on the dedicated Chicago Access Network stations, 19, 21, 27, 36, and 42( although not all stations air video). A great advantage of showing your video on Public Access is that there is no censorship. You can literally do and say whatever you wish on cable broadcast television. With the exception of advertisement or using them to make any profit. The Chicago Area network is an organization that allows you to express opinions, your art , information or whatever you want to show your viewers. Although the Chicago Area Network is extremely liberal in regards to censorship, if you are sued the Chicago Access Network will stay neutral to the matter, and you must defend yourself.
What is also nice about CAN TV is that if you do not have the means of a fancy budget, or own professional production gear, but have a killer idea, you can always gain access to their equipment. They have a great set-up which includes digital cameras pro editing gear and a great studio. Before you are allowed access, you must first pass a proficiency exam. If you are unfamiliar with the use of video production equipment, you can take classes at their facility for a fee.
