Video Rental
You are too impatient to wait for Paramount to call and give your film its final backing to be mass duplicated and packaged for video release and be placed on the shelves of every Blockbuster and Hollywood video. So you're going to take the initiative yourself and put your video straight on the racks of your favorite video store.
If only it was that easy. Most video stores will not accept unsolicited videotapes unless it's a porno hut or an art house video store. So you can immediately forget about Blockbuster video unless you take home the Joury's Choice Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
But fear not, your friends at IFVChicago are putting together a few of our favorite stores that will allow independent filmmakers the ability to put their video on the shelves. Be ready for them to evaluate your film and it must be duplicated on VHS and or DVD. We have only been successful in finding one that definitely allows you the ability to rent. If you have a video store and want to contribute to local artists, please send us an E-mail and we will put you on our site.
We must warn you to not plan on making any money off this method. In fact you may loose money in the long run in the "dubbing process" (duplicating the original in order to make several other VHS copies or DVD's of your film/video.)
(Located in our community section is a list of most post houses that can mass duplicate your video to any format.)
