Mathew Klickstein was literally born in his house in Fountain Valley, CA simply because his mother was too afraid to go to the hospital. She later spelled his name incorrectly on the birth certificate, and thus"Matthew" became "Mathew."
After moving around a bit, but always remaining in the illustrious Orange County area, Mathew went off to the University of Southern California where he majors in screenwriting. Currently, he is struggling like everyone else in Los Angeles to write. He creates novels, poetry, essays, and of course, screenplays that seem to delight audiences, friends, and colleagues, but never executives.
His favorite movies include: "Brazil," "Basquiat," "Sling Blade," "Leon," "The Adventures of Sebastian Cole," "SLC Punk!," "Buffalo 66," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," and pretty much any film by Jean-Luc Godard, David Cronenberg, David Lynch, Lars von Trier, and the future films of screenwriter Charlie Kaufman.
The movies he believes to be best made, however, include: "The Godfather," "Cabaret," "Clockwork Orange," "Amadeus," "Metropolis," and "M."
Mathew reads Dostoevsky, listens to The Beach Boys, and doesn't particularly care for the state of films, music, books, and certainly television in America today. Isn't that cliche?
