You Are Here: iFvChicago.com: Screening: July 2002 Screen-2-Stream

2nd Screen-2-Stream is a success!

Monday, July 29th, marked the 2nd iFvChicago.com “Screen-2-Stream” Film and Video Screening at FrankieJ’s Methadome Theatre.

The night kicked off with a great piece of interactive art submitted by local area artisan, Shawn Lawson. His interactive video art installation titled “Aura” generated visual particles from the person standing in front of the camera and their aura field is projected onto a wall. This piece was both a great installation and drunken fun for the B.Y.O.B. audience.

Host,Angela Farruggia of Frankie J's Methadome Theatre checks out the Aura surrounding her by interacting with Shawn Lawson's installation.

The films submitted this month were also outstanding and entertaining. We where able to enjoy all genres of cinema this month, from experimental films in which third place winner Dan Lacloche describes his film, “Candy Machine” as one’s personal reflections to the encapsulation of the intricacies of a mechanical machine.

Third Place Winner,"Candy Machine"creator Dan LaCloche shares some styling tips with the audience.

We also had some political satires towards the stronghold of the corporate establishment and the people they affect. Of course the comedic intelligence of the comedies submitted this month where far above par, with, “Play it Again Gene,” by Dale Chapman in which Gene Simons of Kiss spends the evening with Woody Allen and his date.

Dale Chapman, creator of,"Play It Again Gene" speaks of his stand up career and the eased pressure of being behind the scenes instead of on the stage. Dale is also a writer and actor of the television show, "We Are Genious in France" airing weekly on Thursday night at 10:00pm on channel 19.

The Second Place winner of the night, went to iFvChicago.com's own Wojciech Lorenc. iFvChicago's Tracy Spera , was counting ballots that evening and swears there was no illegitimacies in the count.Although rumor has it she did grow up in Florida.

Wojciech Lorenc, creator of the 2nd Place Winning Film,"She's a Babe" thanks his film stars, but has trouble locating them in the crowd.

And of course, the big winner of the nigh, the first place winning film, “The World According to Darth,” created by Left Lane Films. Is the story of life after the “death Star fiasco,” as Darth puts it. In this video we get a chance to witness Darth Vader re-establishing his life and teaching Phys. Ed at an all male Private School and living in Schaumburg Illinois.

Co-Creators of the 1st Place Winning Film, "The World According to Darth," Paul Leuer(left) and John Bolger(right) of Left Lane Films, share the secrets of having a family member with clout in order to get shooting permits.
