The first Screen-2-Stream of 2003
Chicago, Illinois- On January 27th, iFvChicago.com held the first Screen-2-Stream for the 2003 year. The house was packed. The audience members were treated to improv by Screening's host Angie Farruggia of Frankie J’s, free T-Shirts from the Chicago Film Office, free CDs from SonyMusic as well as some goofy books that Angie gave away as prizes in her pop quiz .
If you ask me, it is a pretty good deal considering that the screening is free to attend.

Eight lucky film and video creators were chosen to feature their pieces in the screening. Here is a line-up of films that were shown:
1. "Package Boys" by Dan Marello and Mike Lecks
2. "Free Beer?" by Chris Zozaski
3. "Chocolate" by Arwa Merchant
4. "Glass With In A Frame" by Tracy Spera
5. "Ground Control" by Martin Ford
6. "Choking" by Jovanie Vazquez
7. "Jack" by Dan LaCloche
8. "You Will Never Believe my Luck" by Wojciech Lorenc
This time an entirely new voting system was used. Every audience members voted for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. When countng the ballots, every 1st place vote counted as 3points, 2nd place vote counted as 2 points and 3rd place vote as 1point. The sum of all the points determined the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of our screening.
And the winners were:
In third place, with 38 points, was a comedy/narrative entitled, “Choking” by Jovanie Vazquez.

The story revolved around a guy who’s feeble attempt to make conversation with his date fails miserably when he decides to go off on tangents about choking and man’s journey through life.
The second place winner was Martin Ford’s awe-inspiring animation/music video entitled, “Ground Control” (47 points).

Ford’s remarkable piece follows the journey of a man and his ship, as they journey through grounds too rough for humankind.
The first place went to Wojciech Lorenc’s comedy about a guy whose affair gets him a lot more than he bargained for entitled, “you will not believe my luck...”. (55 points)
