Summary: Why would somebody with chronic stage-fright want to be a standup comedian? Marty Schmeckman is an awkward, socially inept man who spirals into a state of paralyzing anxiety whenever placed on the spot. When in the throws of such anguish, Schmeckman, like a cornered stray dog, lashes out with litany of slurs, put downs and painful observations, much to the delight of his audience. This is his act. The one man who knows how to cultivate this act better than anyone else is his manager. And that man's name is Louis D'Rico.
